10 days into the new project

Yeah have been in this project for 10 days now... and nothing has happen untill now.......... well they did give me this small work(which can be completed in few days) and thats all...

I have been coming to office checking mails, talking with friends, learning couple of new stuff on daily doses(new language-computer language) and leaving home.

Today as part of our vertical celebration , TUG-of-WAR, was conducted in our office, did not expect so many people to turn up for the event.( We generally have events conducted with less than 3 teams participating) and today we almost had 14 teams (10 member team). Unusual turn up for a vertical in Chennai . Every one participating with so much of energy ... feels good.

Some time when thinking about how busy other people are ,i really feel depressed.
At home i make myself busy, i do clean my room, and have watched couple of movies over this ten days. I saw X-men III , spiderman II, super man returns.... and all this during the week days.

The previous week end i had gone home too, and had gone to this temple in kerala. Mangattu Bagavathy amman Kovil. Its almost 2 hours journey from my native place. They do some special pooja for "Dhristi" ( people who know tamil will understand).

And one of my best friend has given birth to a twin- girl and a boy...I havent seen her or them.. the next visit to my parents place , will definitely see.. waiting for it.

Change of project

Finally , i got the change of project i had been wanting. Not that i did not like the previous project , but when i think on a long term , i prefer to stay with this.
I had liked my ex-collegues a lot, and especially my cubicle. It has been always fun, Work while you work and play while you play.

It been a week since i have moved out the earlier project with lot of trouble for every one of my seniors . I am glad they approved my movement. Now i am sitting in this new project for a week now with absolutely no one to talk to (since i have no idea who my team mates are and also there are around 200 ppl sittin in this Bay) and also no work.

I realise the pain of sitting without no work to do .
" an idle mind is a devil's workshop" has been apt for me for this past month. I might run in depression i guess.. oh jus kidding .

"The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone."
--Harriet Beecher Stowe

I was jus going through a Quotes site and this quote by Harriet could not be left unnoticed.
Never have any regrets in life for not able to do things . The First thing that we do is procrastinate every thing in life . Deeds we would have intended to do at a very young age get delayed for so many reasons. Best make yourself a time to do stuff you wanted to do . Live your life to the fulliest everyday as though its your last . Though a cliche , its very apt.

Nice song

Return Journey from Madurai:

The best or rather the scariest part was the return journey. After all the hassles about getting the ticket in the train or in the bus, we (NP’s friend) finally managed to get for all of us in a sleeper bus. All of us were happy. Probably we would have traveled 10 kms for half an hour (which includes the bus fuelling….) and one of the passenger noticed that the head light is not working and that a guy was made to stand near the entrance steps with a torch signaling people about the bus coming that way (Hello .. what were they thinking…)

Suddenly we heard someone bashing up someone and the bus turned to another petrol bunk. That’s when we realized all this, since we were sitting in the last row. Everyone got down except us and called the police and after the clarification, the police called the owner and arranged for a van…. To add to the misery we again got the last seat in the van where the chairs were up straight …with no place to keep our legs stretched. For this arrangement to take place we started from Madurai at 12.30am (actually we were supposed to leave by 9pm).

Half way through this tiresome journey, Np’s friend offered a place in few push back seats and need not tell, I slept like a log till we reached Chennai at 10.30 am.

Wedding at Madurai

Feb 3rd of 2006, Swapna’s wedding. We had gone for her reception on 5th Feb. It’s good to see most of your friends present there to witness the occasion. That’s one very good reason you should get married as soon as the college gets over, you are sure all your friends will make it to the wedding. We (Divi , Mai , NP , Naram and myself) started off on 3rd night from Egmore station. We did go a day ahead of the wedding day and made sure we went for the places in Madurai .First we al hurried to the station as we were late for the train only to know that the train is an hour late for its arrival. Hmmm….

We had reached Madurai on 4th morning and went to Alagar Temple. It’s a place which is 17kms away from Madurai and it’s fully been taken by the monkeys (literally). People go to that temple with a stick in their hand to scare the monkeys. The place is also a picnic spot for the locals. Evening we went to Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple and it’s a breathtaking beauty in every sense.

In Madurai, the areas surrounding the temple form the main city and none of the buildings should be higher than the “Gopuram” of the temple. The magnificent golden lotus pond, each and every deity decorated fully in silver or flowers adds to the splendid beauty of the artwork done to the temple walls and ceiling.Divi’s mom had accompanied us to the temple and took us to the nook and corner of the temple and told us what is the history behind each deity present there.

We were completely exhausted of all energy by the 3 hours long walk through the temple , but it felt good. All of retired for the day after that . The next day the only thing we did was to get ready for the reception at 6 pm. Yeah that’s so time consuming … he he hee….

Should I be telling this?? Hmmm… Swapna was looking like a barbie doll in Indian attire. The entrance to the hall had a rangoli of Shin and swapna(too good). To add to the function there was Sudha Raghunathan’s classical concert. We had to rush back to catch our bus back to Chennai.

The best or rather the scariest part was our return journey.

Feb 14

Message of the day:

Treat every relationship as if it's the last one, then you'll know how to give. Treat every moment as is it's the last day, then you'll know how to treasure.

Trip to Queen's Land

Thought the post is a little late to be written, I prefer this on the Blog...

On 21st of January ‘06, Divi's Company had organized a grand day "Annual Day" outing for people in Shollinganallur office to Queens Land. And yes, friends were allowed to come for the outing too... (Wow, the company is very generous). The event had people around 2500 people (which include all friends and family of the employees who had come) from the company and there were others general crowd too. So the entire Queens land as the whole was swarmed with people. There might have been 4000 people in Queen’s land that day.

The day started at 9 am, we had all (Malathi, Np, Divi and myself) got our self into one of the buses arranged by the company and was in full josh for the day ahead. We even missed our breakfast in the fun. He he hee , yeah we do over expect. First when we got down the entire place was thronged with people and some how managed to get in after teaming up with Ramya and Gilli.

First, we thought we would go for the free fall ride only to realize that it had a queue so long it might take ages to reach the ride. We slipped through the queue to go to the next ride which was the roller coaster. The one ride that was actually a little exciting in the entire day. We tried to get in to all the rides and pleasantly that morning had passed. And for the rest of the day , we had fun in the water rides in which only mai and myself went . The final ride was free fall , which did not terrify us at all…
